My wife and I are heated out Monday for a moose hunt. I got the wheelers loaded and getting my gear all sorted out. Had time today to do a last minute zero check.

I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone’s final zero looked like.

I have 4 rifles ready to go this year.

Rifle one is my tried and true suppressed 308.

Shot this 3 shot zero check, 168 Berger Classic hunter @ 2630fps

Dropped it 5 clicks down and reset turret. I had removed the scope earlier so wasn’t suprised it was a little off.

Next was the havak 300 win 200gr ELD-X @ 2930fps

3 suppressed and 3 unsuppressed

My weatherby ultra lightweight 338/06

The first two went in the same hole, I moved it over 2 clicks right and 3 up and shot this group.

This zero should work about perfect for the BRH reticle. This weatherby UL has really come into its own since bedding and floating the barrel.

Lastly was my “pretty” 30/06.

While not terribly impressive with any load so far it has been remarkably mediocre. Shooting three different loads into a 2.5-3” group roughly 3-3.5” high at 100 yards. 165 nosler Partition @ 2750, 180 core-lokt @ 2600, and 180gr Partition @ 2820fps.

How is everyone else rifles working out?

It does appear that you are set for this hunt. Yeah, any of those should fulfil your desire to punch your tag.

I’m just concerned about that Weatherby 338/06.
That shouldn’t really be happening, should it? Two in the same hole?
What kind of dark arts is that [emoji23]

All looks good and ready. Have you spent much time with the 30-06 or done any bedding? Just finding what they like sometimes easier than others. Dan.

I’ve done nothing but mount the scope to the 30/06. It’s shown a bit of promise with a few loads but I haven’t really done anything for it specifically.
