Seems to me that a lot of people like the .358 bore but we don't see very many. So how about a picture post to show what you have? At the very least it will be some good gun porn!

Here is my favorite .358 Win Savage 99A brush gun.

This one is a close second 1903 Springfield .35 Whelen.

Here are a few of the 35s that have graced my safe. Left to right are a BLR chambered in .358 Winchester. It is scoped with a Zeiss Conquest 1.8- 5.5 X 38. Next is a Model 94 in .375 Winchester wearing a Williams Peep Sight (How did that get in there?). Then, there are two Model 94s chambered in .356. The first is scoped with a Kahles 1.1-4.4 X 28 and the second is scoped with a Zeiss Conquest 1.8-5.5 X 38. The .375 has recently been traded for another .375 that was in pretty rough shape, but which was an Angle Eject. This one has been Tefloned and received a Vortex Viper HS 1-4 X 24. I'll post pictures of this new acquisition shortly.

Then, there are two more 35s. Standing against the woodpile is a Ruger Hawkeye chambered in 35 Whelen. It wears a Kahles 3-9 X 42. Perched atop the woodpile is a Ruger Haqwkeye chambered in .358 Winchester. It wears a Leupold VX-III 2.5-8. The 35 Whelen has received a new barrel with a faster twist. It should be home within the week.

I like them all a bunch. Haven't had alot of time with the Marlin yet, but I suspect it will get some use this Fall. Scotty

Randy, I know I have said it before, but man, I like that Norma a bunch! That rifle looks excellent. Seems like I have a Ruger just like it, ready for some kind of transformation. What a great shooting barrel you have on that rifle. Scotty

Thanks for making me feel totally inadequate, Mike! :)

I've posted pics before, but here's my Classic Whelen:

Whoops, I also have a Hawkeye SS in .358, too. Nothing special, still NIB.

Inadequate Kurt? Not with a Classic 35 Whelen! I am thinking of building a 35-348 in a Model 71, just to tweak Scotty's yearning for something new and different. Should be a real thumper.

Man, that is just low Mike! That would be one heckuva thumper for sure. Wow. I LOVE those M71's. I will have one soon I hope. Scotty

Yeah, Scotty. But mine will be a 35. Hey, I'll let you see some pictures. You want to come up for a visit, I'll even let you shoot it ... if you wear gloves.

Kurt you have a great pair of rifles buddy! I love the 358-35 Whelen pair. Just a great set of hunting rifles. Scotty

Kurt and Jim,

I have difficulty forgiving myself for letting my Classic in 35 Whelen get away. It must have been one of those awful moments when insanity reigned.

Mike you can bring that to the moose hunt. Hopefully it goes back in the correct case when we depart buddy! Man that sounds like a cool 35. I'm not sure where this 35 cal fascination comes from, but to tell you the truth, they are some awesome medium bores.

Heck just seeing Randys 358 Norma on a Ruger gets me wound up knowing I have a perfectly good platform to build one off of.

Mike I forgive you for letting the Classic go. I imagine things like that happen at your age! Scotty

Touché! A well-placed thrust; a veritable rapier thrust to the heart. I am humbled by your adroit mastery of repartee.

If I understood what you just wrote Mike, I might feel bad! HA!!! Man, your probably the evil gun dealer I see in my dreams at night! I swear, just when I think I have it licked, you throw the 35-348 into the mix! Scotty

Yeah, and you should see the ballistics data on this. QL makes me want to push this one out the door quickly.

There are some pretty nice guns on here love the SS Ruger 358 Norma like everyone else.

Here's my 35 Whelen it usually wears the fiberglass stock.

Need to find an M70 donor for a .358 Norma, I think. Now all the 7mm RemMags are gonna dry up. :(
