Today the sig. other put down the deposit on a Montana XWR SS in 7mm08 as my Christmas gift. It should be here late January, early February. It is a bit of a wait but it should be a good wait!

Ah,,,good old anticipation,,,,anything under 4 mos. ain't bad.
But as one buddy put, anticipation of receiving, is almost as good as receiving. Personally I think he's f.o.c., but you can decide for yourself. I waited 4 yrs once,,,,,that went from anticipation to agony.

Bass Pro had plenty of 7mm08 hanging around, and I have a Zeiss 3-9 sitting on my cabinet just calling my name...I know this rifle will be worth the wait.

I tried once again to convince her to let me get it, this time with the POV that I could rebarrel/rechamber it to 25-06 or 257 Roberts and put it in a "pretty" Boyds stock for her...still a no go.

Sorry for the no-reply yet. I didnt get a chance to see if it was a CRF or push-feed because as soon as I started handling it, and I was like "I want" it was the "I dont think so Mister"

Lol that's great. I really don't need anything else. But at $400 if it was a CRF what a donor for a build. I do know I need one more rifle for my collection.

The 7-08 is a fantastic cartridge and the Winchester XW is a great rifle. A Zeiss 3-9x is a great scope.
