I went by one of my local stores today and it's a good thing I didn't go two weeks ago. They had some FN model 70 featherweights for $567! The only one left is a .308 - They had a 25-06 two weeks ago. That would have hurt my bank acct. for sure. They also had a Ruger Hawkeye in 300win for $462 both are NIB. It's a good thing I have two of each caliber already. I'm thinking if that featherweight had been a 280 or a 25-06 or even a 257R I'd been in trouble.

Wild Bill's? If they had a Sporter .338 I might have made the trip!

Kurt,
It was Wholesale Sports on 82nd. If they had 338 sporter it would have gone home with me even though it would have ruined my M70 338RUM plans.

Hmm... I looked but never saw a .338. Bummer. I guess that's okay, because I really can't afford another rifle right now anyway.

Those are good prices, Scott. I had no idea they would be offered that cheaply.

Wow, what a deal on that Featherweight. That would be a Featherweight I wouldn't mind having.

You boys ain't kidding. I was just saying to Scotty that 721 for a 257 Bob over at Bud's in Kentucky was a good deal.. 567... GREAT DEAL.

I would love a 257 someday. I am thinking it would be a cool one for my daughter. I would really like something 6.5 first though, in that same case size...

Yep I agree. My daughters have a .243 but it is a Classic stainless Boss.. ( hate the boss). I did install a BOSS CR on it so it isn't as loud, but I would rather it just be a regular barrel.

I would sell it in a second for a pre64 in either 257 or 243......

Great prices!

Grab the .308 - you can do nearly anything with a good .308 Win and the new Model 70's are well built rifles.

I would love one in 280 rem! :p

Its lighter than my current 6wt, and already feels like it will cast tighter in the small streams I am used to fishing. The 6wt does good on the river and smaller lakes. Besides the recent 20-30% price hikes on reloading components makes me want to find a cheaper hobby.
