So has anyone held one yet with the longer grip? They have caught my attention, but havent put my hands on one, I like the exposed hammer and 3" barrel. It doesn't look nearly as ugly as the first round of K6's.

Well here it is, with a 3" sp101 for comparison.
It fills my hand a little more then the sp101, and a little bit smoother double action, no stacking that i can notice yet, and the single action trigger pull is beautiful. And most importantly the wife likes it!
Can't wait to get to the range and try it out.

Both are nice looking pistols. I sure like the S&W 686 with the 3" barrel also. Just feels good in the hand. Shoot some targets and show us how she works!

Nice!

So - have you taken it to the range yet? Results? :)

No range trip yet, yesterday ran out of time and was 50 degrees with 40+mph wind, today i woke up to 5 inches of snow, started heading out but after seeing 3 cars in the ditch decided i could wait, and turned around and came back home.
Will hopefully get out soon and will update with results

Made it out today, here is the 1st cylinder standing at 15yds, not bad for me, it was cold and i was shooting with gloves. Need to get used to it, with the wood grip the recoil is more pronounced vs the rubber on the ruger. Single action trigger is excellent, double has just a little bit of stacking. Anyway the wife and I ran about 70 rounds thru it and had a good time.
