Listed as a SHOT SHOW special on the Winchester website. Anyone here at the show and have you seen it there? I know what I'm getting this year when they become available! I doubt the 7x57 will here before fall hunting.

A 264 win mag w/26" barrel listed under the extreme weather model as well.

I wonder what the 264 will go for when it does come out.

Oh, man, and with a 26 inch barrel! I can see a deficit in my arsenal that needs to be addressed.

Any idea on when the featherweight 7x57 can be ordered?

I'm also thinking about shooting nothing but heavies in this one. Maybe some 160gr or 175gr Partitions.

Guess I need to peruse the websight right quick...

Any .280 shot show special??

I was looking for one of those too!

That 7mm Mauser looks very cool! Talk about a sweet rifle, I love the little one I have, even though it is a push feeder, it is very accurate so far.

Nothing wrong with a push feed. It is still a Model 70 except for the extractor.

I had a push feed 7X57 for a while. It was a mistake to let it go. This one has me thinking.

Going back through Nosler Manual #3 (when reloaders had hair on their chest), the 140 gr 7mm bullet has .248 SD and the 150 grain has .266 SD. Respectively these can be run at 2820 fps and 2730 fps in the 7mm Mauser, even with their wimp loads.

Given their BC of well over .400, I think that I could actually beat the 7mm-08 easily with handloads, since the Mauer case is 7% larger capacity than the 7mm-08 and just as strong with +P brass, thereby getting to 2900 and 2850 respectively in the 7mm Mauser which is close enough to the .280 Rem to raise my interest level?

Give me a little time. I'll tell you what I can get out of the little 7mm. I really wanna try some of the new 150 ABLRs. I think those pushed along at 2800 or so would make a heckuva hunting rifle. I'm still working with the 160 PTs. I left off around 2700 and still had some room to go.

You got it Scotty, I do not have a 7mm Mauser in the safe. That could change in the future but for now, the ball is in you guy's court.

I'd love a 7x57 in a featherweight! You could also have it rechambered in 280AI since that gun has a long action and a 26" barrel it would be ready to go.......Just thinking......
