Nice 358 Win!

The .358 in a Hawkeye appears to produce some excellent groups. I'm sure pleased with mine.

That is an excellent rifle for sure. I love the 358 Win! Great cartridge.

I wouldn't mind having one in a pistol!

This can easily be the one and only NA rifle if the user knows how to use it corectly

That would make for a nice rifle, for someone looking for a modest range thumper.
The .358 is very under appreciated imo.
Indeed Scotty,,,,, the .358 would also be great in a pistol format as well. It would serve very well, right along with some of the most popular rounds for deer, black bear, elk, or even bigger. Sure one could go bigger case and more speed, but if one's intended range don't require it, well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,?

I've got one just like it. Extractor and feed lips needed polishing as it was digging the brass pretty hard. Didn't touch the feed ramp on mine. I just started breaking it in with loads I developed for a BLR. 225 Partitions and Sierras are going into about 3/4". 200gr Hornadys are three holes touching. That's at 100yds using a Weaver K4. Velocities are the same as the BLR's 20" barrel. I got mine on closeout for $500 a few months ago. ;). With the right bullet I'd hunt anything in N.A. out to 250yds with the 358.

I'm with you Sam. It's a great hunting round. I love every second when I get the chance to hunt with my BLR.

Mine's awesome with 200gr Hornadys or 225 NAB/PT or 225 Sierra with H4895. I worked over the rails so mine would feed the 200gr Hornady RN, just seemed a crime to have a 358 that would not feed a RN bullet.

I topped mine with a VX-III 1.75-6x32

I don't feed mine any RN bullets. If I was after bear over bait I might load some 250gr RNs but that would be about it, and that is a "might". A 225gr Partition will do all that needs doing. For deer the Hornady 200gr SP or the Sierra 225gr bullet will both work.

Same here Sam. I run a 225 PT at 2450 in my 358 Win. Not too much I wouldn't hunt with that load. It absolutely HAMMERS deer. Plus, it is still fairly flat shooting for packing that amount of HP.

I can confirm that load works well on moose and elk. No chance on a big bear yet.
