What can I say? I love the big ones.

Hey Fotis, when I was searching for a 375, I had found myself leaning towards the 375Ruger for a few different reasons. That Savage was one I had on my list but mainly for price. I was really wanting a CRF and being a fan of Ruger rifles, handguns, and to a lesser degree the Red Label O/U, I was wanting the M77 Hawkeye. I also prefer walnut/blued (the African) but would have been content with the Alaskan in SS/Syn. I scored this African at a gun show a couple months back for less than the Savage!

Robert:

What ballistics are you getting out of the ruger?

Fotis, I'm ashamed to say I have only had time to glance at a box of Hornady brass, pills, dies, and Barnes pills sitting on my reloading bench. From all the online comparisons I've seen between the 375s, the Ruger keeps up well. I know Gerry has one with a 20" barrel that he likes pretty well. Here's an excerpt from a post he made about his...

"...I haven't chronographed my 300 gr load yet but the 260 gr AccuBond gets 2750 fps with 80 gr Big Game could have gone a bit higher but that was were the accuracy was, which was very good. Two friends of mine have the right handed Alaskan's, both guns use a mid level charge of RL 15 for a bit over 2700 fps, one with the 260 gr AccuBond and one with the 260 gr Partition both guns are very accurate and the felt recoil is noticeably less than with my SS/Laminate..."

G'Day Fella's,

Can't argue with you there FOTIS!
As you have heard me say before, Everybody needs at least One .375 (of some description)!!!
