Would someone be willing to run Quickload for a 6.5-06 26" barrel with 143 eld-x bullets and H4350, H4831, and IMR7828ssc?

Thanks a million.

Thank you so much Bow!!! I am expecting my rifle next week so I would like to work up some loads this weekend. I'm thinking about trying IMR7828ssc because I can't find any RL26 at my local stores. I doubt that RL 19 and RL 22 would be as fast.

Again, thanks!!!!

Check Hodgdons site as well for data, they show 24" barrel 50 gr as max with IMR7828ssc, 2761 fps 62,800 psi with 142 GR. SIE HPBT (they don't have the Hornady listed)
So make sure to work up load carefully.

3 grains difference from Quickload to Hodgdon's site. I will go slow. I think I should be able to get more than 2761 fps out of this rifle. My 30-06 gets a little more than that.

You can get more than that, you are correct.
I assume since you mentioned Pac-Nor that they are doing the barrel. If so, I have one that used the identical reamer.
On the speed: it seems that the 6.5s seem to have a few nodes that keep showing up with the 140 class bullets. One around 2730-2750, another around 2840 or so and another 2910 to 2960. Sorry for the broad ranges but different rifles, you know? It seems as soon as your load works into those speeds, things tighten up. My 260 AIs both seem real happy in the mid 2900s. One hit at 2930 the other at 2950. My non-Ackley 6.5-06 hit right at 2950 with the 140s but I now run 130s at around 3050-3080.(FWIW, there appears to be a fairly consistent node there with the 130s as both the 260AI and 6.5-06 got "happy" with 130s right at that speed)
You should be able to get to the mid 2900s without too much difficulty. Work up and the gun will tell you.

edit: There is more speed to be had with these loads if you wanted but the accuracy was very good at those speeds so I stopped there. I run the 6.5-06 AI a little faster but you're not building an AI so I left it off.

I'm running the 143 ELDX out of my 6.5 SAUM at about 3030 from a 24" barrel. I'm am very happy with their performance on game and on paper. They will seperate jacket from core if impact velocity is high enough to mushrooom back past the machanical locking ring. I don't know if this is a big deal or not, just my observations.

I think you'll be quite pleased.

That SAUM is an interesting cartridge.
I've been thinking about building one lately.

Excuse the hijack WT!

Looks like H4831 and 7828 are very good in the 6.5-06. Anything over 2900 with that bullet should hold onto speed really well and even if it comes unglued it'll hurt chest shot WTs pretty quick I'd bet.

Can't wait to see it shoot.
