Like a lot of rifle enthusiast I like how accurate Savage rifle are but have a hard time getting by there ugliness. I have a Savage model 11 with a accru-trigger and a tupperware stock for a few years that I wanted to dress up. Recieved a email from Boyd stocks a while back for replacement walnut stock for around a $100 bucks. Added the Winchester model 70 FW style checkering for around $40. I really like the way it came out. No fitting at all and perfectly floated barrel. First time out shot 5/8th inch 3 shot group at a 100 yards with white box Winchester 50 gr HP ammo from Wally world. Thought I would share.

Very attractive--a great idea. I agree with you, it came out quite nicely.

That does look really nice, just waiting for mine to show up.....

The top is a 270 WSM the bottom a 250 savage. Not mine

People who dog savages just do not know.

I just can't get past the back end of the bolt and how the stock is cut away so dramatically right there. That being said, I will have one of the Savage HS Precision stocked .338 Lapuas, and one of the Long Range Hunters in 6.5x284. To go along with my 110G (?) in 7 RM.

Fotis - I know they shoot great for a factory rifle...but I would still need a paper bag over my head to be seen carrying one of them!
The model 14 is the exception.

Man, do I sound like a tool for not mentioning how nice that stock looks.
