The ultimate in whelens!

Beautiful & who would ever guess a Whelen
I might have had to begin to shoot right handed if I didn't own RMR!

Blessings,
Dan

I have never understood the pricing stratedgy at Cabela's. They take trades in on a 65% buy rate. Now I am all for making a couple bucks on things but holy cow.

Wednesday I was at the Cabela's here in Kansas City. They had an 1895SS Marlin in 45/70 on the used rack. It had the push button safety. There was maybe 5% of the blueing left. Seriously it was darn near void of any blueing. The wood and metal looked like it had been dragged behind a truck on a gravel road for 10 miles or so. Price.....

999.00

Pre Remington's in fabulous condition only go for 600-650 and you can get them for under 600 if you watch carefully.

Now this is the same Gun library that had a pre war Model 70 Carbine in 300 H&H for 18999.00 back 18 months ago that now sits in the same case for 11999.

A bit optimistic in my opinion.

Nice gun.
Proud of it, aren't they?

That is what I thought. With $2.8K I can build a work of art!

It is attractive, to be sure. There is a Winchester chambered in 358 Norma Magnum at Cabelas in Edmonton. The price is similar to this one. Despite my hunting partner sending me pictures and pushing me to buy it, I say much the same as others here have said, "For that price, I can build my own."

It is SWEET though. You guys are right, I would build my own for that much, but man, just like Scott said, it would be an awesome build with Express Sights on it.

I will have one, just got something else in mind first.

Man, that sure is a nice rifle! I got spooked when I saw the price tag and the bare rifle weight, though.

I hope nvbroncrider doesn't see this; he just might drive to Reno and pick it up.
