Wow, I wonder how many tigers are actually left wild in the world? They had a man-eater on their hands, just like in the old days:

Must have been terrifying for those of the village. I believe there are quite a few tigers in reserves in India.

I've been on the receiving end of a p'd-off 4 pound house cat, and I can't even imagine the power and damage a 500 cat could do, forget about living with that fear on a daily basis. Sad the cat had to die, but from what I've read the tiger population growth rate in India is +6% per annum, so that's a good sign.
