I received my 2018 Browning catalog in the mail today and noted the Hi Power is not listed among the firearms that company is offering. I hadn't heard about it being discontinued so I can only presume it was done quietly. If so, look for already high prices to go even higher on these fine pistols. I would guess that sales were not especially brisk since polymer and striker fired pistols seem to be at the forefront of popularity.

"Bearing Arms" reported on February 8 that the Hi-Power has been discontinued due to slumping sales throughout this past year.

Other sources seem to confirm this news.

Too classy and good a pistol to die.

Aren't there some "knock offs" of the Hi Power in production already?

My wife ( when we dated ) bought me a Browning Hi Power 9mm back in the late 1980's and its an amazing pistol. Only thing is I don't like is that its a SA, but it handles nicely and accurate. I just keep it behind my headboard at home for home defense and carry DA Sigs concealed when I step out. I had it reblued and it looks like it was right off the shelf. I used to get free ammo from a friend who is in law enforcement, I must have put over 15,000 rounds through it and still keeps ticking.
