There is just something about 1911s

Wandered into a inventory reduction sale at the local 3 bears . They had a Sig tacops 10mm for $700. Seemed like too good a deal to pass up.

Took it out to the range and ran a few rounds thru it. It shot great, ran everything I fed it except some armscor 180 JHP. They wouldn’t run in my Glock 40 either so I’m pretty sure it’s the ammo. A mix of 180-200gr jacketed and 200-220 cast all ran like a top. Accuracy was as good as I’m able out to 45 yards. I was able to hit my 9x12 steel gong about 75% of the time at 45, My 6” gong was 100% at 25 yards.

There is just something “right” about a good 1911. I’m pretty stoked. It will make a more compact backup than my Glock 40 w/RMR.

I have an IWB holster right now. It works but I’m thinking a nice OWB pancake will be more comfortable.

I concur, nothing like a good 1911. They just feel right.
Love my Kimber Tactical Pro II 45 ACP.

You all have heard me say it several times before. There are two kinds of pistols, 1911's and everything else. JMB got it pretty much perfect.

Nice buy, OP. That would be a hard one to pass up at that price.

My Sig Stainless Match Elite in .40. Good shooter, and it's pretty. :)

Sig is definitely making a fine 1911 now

They don't make mine anymore. They discontinued it not long after I got it. I guess that will add to its value down the road.

Found a few more holster options today. I stopped by the excellent diamond d leather in Wasilla. I picked up two leather holsters for the new sig and a local made lured number.

I think between these I will be well covered.

The second one is a new holster of his, very simple design and extremely comfortable. It’s about the lightest setup I have ever used. At $35 it’s a definite bargain. It’s not much of a retention holster but would work great for general EDC and pretty much vanished once the gun is removed. Will be nice for long car rides where the gun get pulled out and stuck to a magnet.
