Rubber hose washers will give you a serviceable zero stop for that 6X Guy.. Might cost you .99 or so at most hardware stores. They aren't perfectly HARD stops, but you'll know then you are at the bottom.
 
there was a guy one one of the shooting forums that made zero stops out of aluminum . he needed a few specs of the turret . it just slid down on the turret then you put the turret knob back on and it bottomed out on the aluminum spacer . a very simple set up . it looked just like a inner snap ring for a universal joint . if you could find a few snap rings the correct size this would work pretty well I think . here is a pic of the snap rings I'm talking about .

Here's what I did:

Start with the scope zeroed where you want it and the turret set to zero.

Here's the layout of the parts I "made".

Now pull the turret off and slide the bushing over the post in the turret.

This bushing is simply a piece of 3/8 ID poly tube cut to .475" and sliced to allow it to go over the post. Its only function is to keep the shims from rattling around at all.

Next the starter spacer is added. This is a piece of 3/4 PEX cut to .200". This piece simply reduces the number of shims needed.

After that, add enough vinyl shims to get you close but still allow the turret screw to be tightened down against its shoulder and not against the shims.

Tighten the screw down and run the turret down as far as possible.

You can see it turned down just over six mils from my zero. That means that I want to add six mils worth of spacers. The turrets rise approximately .025" per revolution or .005" per mil. Simple math tells me I need to add about .030" of spacers. Since my spacers are in multiples of 8 thous, I try three spacers to see where I'm at. I turn the turret up a revolution with the final spacers added and tighten the screw down. Then I run it down to see where it stops.

Its hard stop is about .5 mil past my zero. I could make some shims out of a thinner material to get the rest of the precision needed make it stop right at zero.
 
How are things going with the scope Guy since you started this thread a few months ago? Looks like a good match for the famous green machine :)
