Caliber is 7mm rem mag. Looking for something that will keep it svelte BUT able to make long shots with turrets (within reason)

1500 is budget

Leupold 4-14x40 30mm with CDS

Agree with both fore mentioned scopes...
Can also add the Swarovski 3.5-10x42 with their turret and BRH reticle option

My 300WSM Finnlight wears a Swarovski Z5 3.5-18 with BT turret. I think I like the Z3 3-10x42 better it is simpler to use. I have decided that twisting knobs at the moment of truth messes with my head. Brian

Meopta still makes the 4-14X44 that they made for Zeiss like I have on my 7RM that was on the 300Bee I sold to your friend.

My 85 Finnlight is wearing a Swaro Z5 3x18 with Turret. I really like the setup.

You guys are EXPENSIVE man! lol

I have some Swarovski scopes for sale . They are above your budget but worth every penny! Especially for hunting and low light conditions. They both have the BT turrets. PM if you are interested and want some pics.

You can pick up the Meota 3-10X44 for under $400 and get some very fine glass. I can see into the dark shadows with it and it makes a great twilight scope.

Midway USA has Vortex Viper 6.5-20X44 30mm tube with target turrets for $329.99 and free shipping right now. I just bought one a couple weeks ago and it is a really good scope for the money. It tracks perfectly for me and it has the ballistic plex so you really do not have to dial for deer size game unless you really are shooting a long ways off.

I just saw the 1500 budget note. Go Nightforce, look around you can find what you are looking for around that price and it is hard to beat them all around. I have both the Zeiss Diavari VM/V 3-12x56 and the Meopta Meostar 3-12x56 and there is not a frog hair difference in the quality of the glass. Neither have target turrets.

My 85 finnlight in 6.5x55 wears a leupold vx3 2.5-8. While a great scope and lightweight in some long range applications I am left wanting. I have Swarovski z3 3-10x42 on my m70 7 mag.

My ultimate plan is to put the z3 on my finnlight and get a S&b or z3 4-12 for my 7mag and move the vx3 to my marlin 1895 guide.

Since yours is in 7mag I would personally go z3 4-12.

Swarovski Z8i way to go. A fantastic state of the art piece of optics. Just brilliant at dawn/dusk .. better than 'good' by far. Expensive? Depends on how much hunting you do in adverse conditions.
