Finally had a day to hit the range and shoot my new huntin pistol.

I had ordered some Doubletap .45 colt +P loads to play with. They are 300 gr bonded JSP at 1300 fps. I shot at 25 to confirm my scope was on, then moved to 50. This was off a rest at 50 yds. I should be able to kill a 120 lb michigan whitetail with this. Recoil was not bad at all.

I am hoping to load for this caliber and produce a tighter group. I also would like to try some Buffalo Bore cartridges as well...

Nice looking rig Brian.
300 grs at 1300 fps should do the trick.

I need,,err, ok want one.

Need... want... It all gets so confusing. Just give in to your baser nature, Dave. Enjoy.

My first revolver was the Super Blackhawk Hunter in .45 Colt; mine is topped with a Leupold 2X scope. They shoot extremely accurately, as you are finding out. If you decide to shoot cast bullets, might want to think of reaming the cylinder throats to .4525; mine were really tight. Have fun with that great revolver!

Looks like you're set to go. Nothing can escape that!
