Hello all,
I just bought a Beretta 96A1 and was looking at buying a lazer for it. (no experience on them) Anybody have any recommendations? Is a green dot better then a red dot?

Thanks LT

Green uses more battery power.
Crimsom Trace Laser Grips is the only brand I have experience with and the only one I'll recommend. I suggest using the standard red colored laser.

+2 Crimson Trace
The thinking supposedly is green shows up better in sunlight.

My advice on using the laser is to use it as a training tool so that you are on target when you bring the gun up.

That way, in the event you cannot see your laser, you're still on target. In short, don't go looking for the little red dot. If it's there, great! If not, your sights and "muscle memory" should get you minute of felon. Use the sights on your gun! that's why they put the bloody things on there.

Cats like to chase the red dot around the house.

Shield man on a SWAT team has a need for a laser, because he can't get behind the sights on his handgun and carry the shield for the team.

Otherwise, I'm not real sold on them. It seems though that Crimson Trace has the market pretty well sewn up with a decent product.
