Spent the weekend down at Seaside on the Oregon coast. Had a minus tide so Saturday morning we.went down on the beach and dug razor clams. We were not alone, but the clams were plentiful. Had our 15 clams in an hour. We were heading back to my buddies cabin, about a 1/2 mile off the beach when we ran into a herd of Roosevelt Elk. There were a number of bulls just sprouting their antlers. Like the clams the elk cooperated, the herd crossed the road single file, all fifty of them. Of course I did not get any pics, but still a good weekend with my son.

That sounds like a fine weekend, to be sure. I'm certain the clams are excellent. It is always a pleasure to watch the elk as they are moving about in the spring--a testimony of survival through the winter.
