We have always planted spring and summer varieties of vegetables, but never have in the fall and winter. This is my first time planting broccoli and cauliflower in my garden. Cut my first batch for dinner tonight, looks healthy. I hear once you cut the main head off the broccoli plant, multiple heads will grow around it. It's a rare sight to see because its my first. Unfortunately it will not happen with the cauliflower plant. Uprooted the cauliflower plant and my dogs are feasting on the stem, lol. They seem to love it. There are several more of those two varieties in the garden along with other types of vegetables like carrots, tomatoes, spinach and kale.

That's great.
Actually fall is the best time to plant cold weather veggies since you don't have to worry about cabbage worms that will infest the heads of Broccoli and cauliflower.
I always wait till fall to plant them.
