Any are fine cartridges that will work. The '06 is, for sure, a fine all-around cartridge. Anyone armed with an '06 is not handicapped in the field. It is versatile. On the other hand, it would sure be a dull world if all we had was one cartridge.

I cannot agree more that the 30-06 is one of the most popular hunting cartridges.

He does some real good articles. If I get to Africa for a plains game trip - and it's looking good now - it will be a bit of a tossup about taking the 30-06 or the 375 H&H. I'll be torn, no doubt.

I can see your problem choosing Guy! Your 30-06 is perfect and a nice rifle to carry and yet your Ruger #1 in 375 H&H is such a classic old cartridge and it's in such a special rifle that just exudes beauty and class. Oh crap and then I forgot about that beautiful Winchester Model 70 you have in 375 H&H that just begs to be all things Africa. Glad I'm not you!!
