Well I told you all the bad news when I ended up in the hospital with diabetes and A-fib
So I figure you should know that in less then 4 months I got my A1C down from 12.5 to 5.4.
So I think I deserve a glass of good Bourbon to celebrate.

Absolutely wonderful!!! Congratulations, that is one helluva reduction. I know how much discipline, will-power, and family support it takes to pull that off. Been there.
So happy for you Roger, and your family.
Duane

Give her my thanks Bill her comments are appreciated.
I made up mind years ago I would not be a victim and I sure as hell wasn't going to let this get the best of me.
Thanks again.

That is excellent news Rodger, I have been battling type ll for over 15 years and it is all I can do to keep my A1C in the 7s.
Again good job my friend (y).

Blessings,
Dan

Dan I did nothing radical or special and just basically followed my doctors orders. The biggest thing was changing the way I eat and eliminated the things or cut them way back that I consumed that created problems for me. And I learnt this threw watching my blood sugar levels and remembering what I had eaten that spiked my sugar levels. This also helped me to lose weight which came fast at first but has been slowed since my body is leveling out.
I know you heard this from professionals but here's what I did.
Cut out rice of all types none of it is good for you, white flour products, white potatoes, Fructose corn syrup loaded foods and cut back on all types of pasta. Eat plenty of fresh green veggies and fruit except oranges and fruit juices. I still use sugar but it is raw sugar and unrefined like white sugar, I actually use a organic type grown and packaged from Florida that can be found in most big chain food stores and Wallymart ,there are two types under this brand one is brown and one is white, I prefer the white since it dissolves easier and has a less sweet taste and use just like regular refined sugar. A little more expensive but worth the cost and your not using chemicals that are bad for you.
I could go on but it's not necessary just change your eating habits and things will come together.

Great news, Rodger! Well done, congratulations!

My Dad also battled type II for 25 years and still lived to be almost 94 years old.

Sounds like you have done an excellent job getting it under control.

Rodger,

That in itself is quite special.
As I often say, people pay me every day to ignore my advice.

Congrats on the improvement!
