QL data needed for 300WM/240 Woodleigh & 240W/87 HP?

Big extremes here, ha. In a 24" barreled 300WM, which suggested QL data/powder will give only 2400fps/Woodleigh 240gr with the fullest case?

Then, also in a 24" barrel, 240 Weatherby, what are some good powders/speeds for the Hornady 87 HP & Sierra 85 HP? Thank you so much!!! :)
 
Not a temp stable powder but I worked up to 53 grs of IMR4831 ( look in Nosler manual; it's their accuracy charge with IMR4831 and max velocity also) with an 87 VMax and in my 24" Vanguard shot .750-.800" 3 shot groups. Guessing it's do well with 87 BTSP too.
 
Thanks guys, that gets me started on the 240W. I still need a 300WM load of 2400 or 2500 at the muzzle with the 240 Woodleigh. Since it is made for 30-06 speeds its not designed for faster than 2400 on impact. I am still cruising load dat for any 230-250 gr but they have faster starting loads, as a rule. I need Quick Load help!!! :) :)
 
I’ve had good experience emailing Woodleigh for data. Usually takes a couple of days to get a reply.
 
Don't have a "240 grain Woodleigh" in my data base. However, I'll provide you with a summary of what can be done with the 220 Woodleigh.

Thank you Sir! I'm thinking I will wait and just use these 240gr out of a 30-06, like they were designed to be! I have a new box of 200 Partition, and you were kind enough to post those loads. You sir, are a 'Scholar and a Gentleman". :)

PS, if you had to choose, which rifle/caliber/bullet for elk in timber, up to 300yds (when they are on the opposite ridge: 338 RCM in a 20" Ruger ss, or a Remington 700 Classic in 35 Whelen? :)

Either would work just fine for you. You wouldn't go wrong with either of those rifle/cartridge combinations.
 
Thank you sir. So far, I've been enjoying this CA Mesa in 300WM like nobodies business, ha. Its a fine rifle, and the main one I will be using from now on out. I keep "hoping" when my only grandson turns 18 that he will want to start hunting with me. His liberal mama hasn't even allowed me to take him to the desert and shoot a .22! I will ask him, not her, on his 18th what "he" wants to do! ha and I'd like to have a spare he can use w/o hurting him/being obnoxious to shoot. Thanks again pard. Rev Jim
