I am trying to duplicate the Winchester factory load in the 7mm WSM with 160gr Fail Safe.

I need the COL length and the powder charge in the 7mm WSM fail Safe load?

Thanks for any help

I don't know how much help this is to you but the 160 gr Failsafe Winchester loads in my 7mm Rem Mag are 0.120 shorter than my 160 Partition loads. My guess is that the ogive shape (and set length) is the same as the Partition but with no lead tip, it is that much shorter. As for loads. I would use the Nosler Partition loads for the 7mm WSM, less 5% or so to start and work up.

I have a 7 mm rm factory load with 160 gr Fail Safe. So I measured the case and the COL and subtracted the difference, this is how much the bullet is out of the case. So added this to the the 7mm WSM case to get the COL for the 7mm WSM and this was 2.781" my load will be H4831SC@ 64.0 in WW nickle brass and WLRM primers.

Went to the range with my 7mm WSM with the above load......shot less than 1" groups at 100 yards..........I zero with less than 6 rounds. This will be my son's Moose rifle this year.
