Just picked up some TAC to try in my 350 rem mag with a 225 NP. Anyone beat me to this combo? If so, how was it speed and accuracy wise?

Bill

Bill, have not used TAC is anything, but it seems like it is well fit for the 350RM! Does RL15 work in the 350RM as well as the Whelen? Just wondering since they have to be just about the same as case capacities go?

Good luck buddy, looking forward to seeing what you end up with.

I use TAC with a 200 grain TSX in my 350 RM. It has accounted for black bear, elk and mule deer so far. It is a powerful combination at excellent velocities.

Bill,

I would think you should be able to get 2700-2800 fps with the 225 gr PT.
Keep us posted on your load development.

Consequently, my 673 shoots 0.25 inch groups consistently. Velocity is a sedate 2750 fps. It does deliver the goods.

That is some excellent accuracy Doc! WOW

Just came from the range with the 350 rem mag with the purpose of trying to see where max is at and velocities. Here is what I found.

TAC powder, 225 NP, Fed 215,

57gr 2620
58gr 2672
59gr 2697
60gr 2725 (max in my rifle)

Now it's time to find an accuracy load between 58-60.

Bill, looks pretty good buddy. Running just about the same as my Whelen with RL15 and the 225 AB. You going to use the 350 this year in the elk woods? I really wanna get the Whelen out to Idaho this year. It is running pretty well. How was the accuracy in your rifle?

This was one of my earlier attempts at working up a load for the 350 RM.

I've never been able to get the PT to shoot quite as well, though it isn't bad.

This was the load I finally settled on.

As I said, it has accounted for a fine variety of game.

I can see why you shoot the TSX's now Mike! 2700 with a 200 TSX shouldn't let much slip away....

I am really thinking about it Scotty. I have no doubt it will be in the gun case when I go over but who knows if it or the 8mm will be the one to do the killin. I have not shot for accuracy yet, just want to see velocity but accuracy is coming soon. I have some 200 TSX's on the way and I'll try them as well.

Mike I would be happy with any of the targets you shown. I know for me TSX bullets have been very very accurate as well.

No go for the 225 AB in the 350 Bill?

Just wondering as it is pretty accurate in the Whelen?

Not sure how well, if at all, an AccuBond would fit my 700 short mag box 350.

I can't get the 225 AB to work in the magazine in my 673. The 200 grain TSX works just fine, however.

That is what I was thinking for my 700 as well. 2.800 give or take is max box length. I think the 200 tsx would be great for deer.

Bill,

I can attest that the 200 grain TSX works very well for elk and very large black bear as well.
