A strange quickload request

A friend of mine asked me if I had any load data for a 220 swift with a 77 grain Sierra. Of course, none of my manuals have data for this combo of anything even close to it, and a Google search doesn't come up with any results. There aren't even a lot of results for a 22-250ai with that bullet. Would anyone be so kind and able to run the swift/Sierra through quickload please?

I don't remember what the twist on his barrel is, but it isn't factory. I'm thinking maybe it's a 9" twist Shilen. And at a mile of elevation with that velocity, I bet a 9" will be more than adequate for that bullet.
 
Berger has a Rifle Barrel Twist Rate Chart for most of the gun makers that have produced factory 220 Swift's, and list them at either 1:14" or 1:12". So unless your friend requested something different, I'd check it with a cleaning rod and a tight patch just to see what it is? The 77 gr. bullets don't do so will in anything less then 1:8". My Remington R5 223 has a 1:9" and I only run a 73 grain bullet in that gun because of that issue.

Thanks. I've used that calculator before. I wasn't worried about it. If a 75 amax will stabilize out of a 9" twist .223 at this elevation, I figured a 77 Sierra would be ok from a 9" swift...
 
I know longer live or hunt at such high elevations anymore like I did when I lived in CO, and MT which makes up for a lot of the BC and stability factor, but so does the temps, as does the added velocity made up a lot of the lost ground vs. the 223 Remington. Both of which I don't have here in Idaho or in the little 223.

I looked in my Sierra Manual, it does show loads for the 69 MK, and the 80 MK for the 220 Swift, just not the 77 MK. Both loads show the best accuracy using H4831 SC. I noticed a max load of 40.0 grains for the 80 SMK as the most accurate, and the 69 SMK accuracy load was 39.5, both were @ 3200 fps. I'd look at that powder for a starting point, and a more realistic velocity range.
 
I forgot about this thread, but thought I'd go ahead and share results. My friend ended up using RL26 and the 75 AMax for 3550 fps that last summer I lived in CO. It was a beast all the way out to 1200 yards. It also very quickly put the finishing touches on the rest of his rifle's throat. Ha. The brass survived just fine, but he'd have to "chase the lands" and load longer every time we went shooting. Granted, it was an older barrel that he had who knows how many rounds down already, and my friend likes to shoot. I bet that sucker got run pretty hot more often than not.

I was just thinking about how much fun a 75 at warp speed can be and decided to look this thread back up...
