I used Dewey's method of finding a flat spot. Here is what recorded with the bullet .050" off the rifling.

Then I loaded up some more of what I thought may have been nodes

70.7

71.4

72

And then 72.5

Pretty doggone happy with 72. Will load some more of those up to retest. Overall, I wanted to experiment a little after the barrel was firelapped and it seems to be responding real well. I'm pretty sure that load will hunt this year...

Oh, and 4 shots.... I should just stick with 3

Looking good.[SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES]

Yeah, 72 looks great. Fine shooting. Dewey's method has been working well for me also.

Were you chrono numbers 3 shot averages or single shots?

Single shots across the Magnetospeed.

Excellent. I have a Magneto speed which I'll use as I finish up the Model70 break in(should be mid month)

Reshot the 338 last night. I'm calling this load good for the books.

Well, I guess! That load is a real confidence builder. Not much in NA that can stand up to that load.
