I'm looking for recipes for a Hornady match bullet, BTHP 155gn. Hoping to use RL 22.

If there is a recipe for 3039 with RL22, could I have it?

If not probably the closest Hornady bullet is the 155 Amax 30312.

The other alternative might be that report of all the powders.

Case Remington.
Primers CCI bench rest

22" barrel, 1:10 twist

Thank you!

That is a concern I have. Another friend recommended it...I generally go with 4350 or Rl15 for 150 class.

I'd think your picks were much better suited.

I'd agree, IMR4350 58.5g
OAL 3.320" Nos BT.

may I suggest 4350 series?

[emoji1] Fotis, please do. Was thinking this morning about sending you a note to ask about your loading technique and shooting technique. You always generate amazing results.

I'm trying to pivot to getting a load ready for black bear. I have three weeks.

I have 180gn accubonds and pointed partitions which I can put on a 3006 or 300 winmag. The above BT would be for white tail in November.

The 300 WM needs one more good range evening to finish the break in process.

[emoji5](blushing...the 3006 was a side project to give the win mag more barrel cool down time, I took two shots with the 300, and when it was time to clean it, I had no patches with me, so trying again tonight. I should be and to finish the break in process tonight and start working on load development.
Lol. Life is complicated. I've got a bear tag which opens for me on 9/15. Tending 3 baits and it's a 4 hr drive. There's a good 10-15 miles between baits so I'm not hunting the same bears.

I loaded up some 3006 180gn ppt's, with RL-22.

For the Winmag, I'm thinking PpT or Accubonds in the 180gn flavor.
I have IMR4350, H1000, RL22 rl19, 4831sc. Recommendations? Fotis gave me some tips on IMR4350, H4831sc, and IMR4831(I have all of those).

I appreciate the help and encouragement from you guys!

If it were mine I'd try 22, H1000, H4831 and just pick what you have the most of. All of them will do excellent ent in the big 300.

The 180 AccuBond should be a near and far killer.

That should work out real well! (y)
61.5 gn was about 1".
62 had two touching and the third was 3". Will run 61.4-62 again in 0.2 increments

Got through the break in process. By the 14th shot, you could see a big difference, much less fouling.

Will load up some IMR4350, H1000, and RL22. I think the Nosler manual said the H1000 was most accurate. I have a good supply of all three. The clean out procedure rounds were IMR4381 at 2700fps for a RN Sierra ProHunter. For my bear load, will use AB or PPT.

Have a Magnetospeed which i started using earlier this week.

I would think you'll have a load pretty quick. Hard to go wrong with any of those.

I took a cow moose at 217 yards with my 30-06 and 200gr ABs, loaded in front of H4831. This was ten years ago, my father loaded the ammo for me since I was between deployments and didn't have a heck of a lot of time, nor was I the loader I am today. I still have a few of those rounds, but the tips broke off, so I'll pull one and get you the load we used. Got her in the heart on the move, we got the bullet back on the off side, weight retention was great as always, don't remember just what it was, it's in my father's collection currently.

Well I found them quicker than I thought I would. I have no idea what the powder is. When I pulled one, there was only 43.2gr in it. Long grains, doesn't look like H4831 unless they shortened the original length on the non SC kernals. I don't have 3031 to compare to, but an old Sierra manual shows that might be in the ballpark, getting around 2400 fps by the book for 42.7 gr.

It's a mystery until I go put them over the chrono I guess. I only have seven rounds though, so I may just put the one I pulled together and do a one shot test, special rounds for me..

sounds like it worked just fine on that moose.

Careful with that chrono.. been many a broken heart when folks found out their slayer load wasn't quite what the book said!

You'll like this. First load work up for 300 WM, first time loading AB.
OAL 3.329 (0.25 off the lands)
IMR4350. First 3 shot group

This one has potential too
