I bought some of these Nosler 220 grain BTRN thinking they would be bad medicine out of the 300 Magnums. I was informed they aren't designed for high velocity so just for kicks I loaded some up for my 30.06. Went with a starting load of H4831 and set OAL 30 thousandths off with the Hornady gauge.
First two shots showed promise and then the third one opened things up.
Book shows 2300 fps at the muzzle which is a bit fast if I understand what this bullet is designed for.

The holes look really nice and round. The bullet appears to be handling 2300fps. Pretty much a guarantee 2300fps if 220 grains will leave a fatal mark on game.

Looks pretty good to me for starters. I'd bet it'll work sweet in a 30/06 though. Should open up wide.
