Going to try some 125 pt in my creedmoor for deer. I am also getting some imr 4451 to try to find a replacement for h 4350. Looks like it takes between .5 to 1 grain more of the 4451 than 4350 for the same fps. I have a really good load with 120 bt and h 4350 but would like to try 4451 with the 125 pt. If someone could run a quick load so I could have a starting point and I good Idea where to stop

6.5 creedmoor
Nosler brass 52.2 water capacity
Fed 210 primers
22 in barrel
Nosler coal is 2.790
125 nosler Partition

Thank you
Michael

Thank you Dr Mike. Hope to pick the powder up tomorrow and try some load development next week. I hope I can get a node around 2800fps. That should hammer a deer shoulder!

Looking forward to your results. I've been meaning to try the 125 gr Partition for awhile now. I just have not got around to it.

I loaded some 125 PT's over RL-17 (I think) and got very good accuracy from them, in the .6 range if I remember correctly. I wouldn't have any qualms about going after deer with them.

I hope to get load and shoot them next week. If I can get them to shoot a inch or less at a 100yards I will be good. Most of my son's and my shots are 100 or less. I like to shoot deer high in the shoulder so I thought these would do the trick. I have a 120 bt load and the 135 berger that shoot a half inch at 100yards. Going to use those if we hunt some places that require longer shots. I can put them behind the shoulder. But my 9 year old twin boys it's a little easier for them to put it in the shoulder so I thought the 125 pt would be better for that. I tried them in my 7mm08 and couldn't get them to shoot. I hope I have better luck in the 6.5.

The 125 gr PT should be awesome in your Creedmoor. I have shot them
out of a 6.5 Rem Mag and 6.5 JDJ Contender and they are accurate with plenty
of penetration.

I have shot deer with them out of 6.5x55 and they work well. A friend of mine used to use them in his 264 win mag and killed two elk bang flop with them. Keep in mind that they like to jump quite a good ways to the lands to be accurate. The 130 AccuBond works just as good and is more accurate and flies flatter.

Well I shot some of the 125 pt today with big game powder 41 41.5 42 gr nothing shot less than 2 inches at 100yards. Had around 150 jump on them. This creedmoor has a very long throat. Suggestions on where to go with the length? I think I will try h4350 with my next test loads. Was getting a lot of smoke with the big game powder.i was using fed210 primers might have to try mag primers if I am going to keep trying the big game.

I’d seat them as long as possible or .010 off the lands and see what happens. Never seen Partitions shoot really good that far off the rifling.

Ok I will give that a shot and see how that works. If I could get them to shoot around a inch I would be happy with that.

If you can’t get close to the rifling a 130 AccuBond may be your huckleberry since they tend to thrive on some jump.

Yes that is going to be my next move If I can't get these to shoot.
