Got out to the range and ran this load over the chrono. It shot better previously as seen on earlier target but I think it was me on the second target. Load is 180gr Horn BTSP over 73grs RL22.

Average velocity was 3008fps

Certainly looks good enough to issue a firm invitation for an ungulate to join you for dinner! Still fine shooting.

A .30 cal, 180 gr bullet at about 3,000 fps has an excellent reputation.

Great groups. Consider a couple of clicks of windage?

Nice shooting. I've had similar groups using 75.0 grs RL22.
Potent medicine for sure.

Thanks. It gives a person that much more confidence with an accurate load. Hopefully next week it will bring home some venison.
 
That's a nice group, it should put you right on at 300 and 8 inches low at 4. It will serve you well.
