New Press Ideas

I'm looking to get a new press this year after letting a friend have my older Lock-N-Load AP a couple of years ago.

I don't really want another progressive press. I see that Hornady now has something called the "Iron Press" which has the same priming system of the AP but just a single operation on top.

Anyone used this one? Looks like it has the right stuff.

There are many good single stage presses available. If your dies are setup for the Lock-N-Load system, go with Hornady. I've used Co-Ax since 1966 and and a RCBS bench system for priming. I recently bought a Rock Chucker Supreme used for $50 that I'm going to give a try to do some hydraulic case forming. This is the one function that would be difficult to do with the Co-Ax.

That Co-Ax is hard to beat for loading nice straight ammo. There ARE a few accessories it doesn't mesh well with, though.

I have two co ax presses in the reloading room, and two parter presses on a board that goes in the vehicle or next to my computer.

In any case, i am priming with the RCBS automatic priming tool.

I own a lot of other presses and priming systems.... that gather dust.
