Hey there,

Just wondering if I could get quick load data on 338-06 and CFE 223. Never thought about using this powder, saw that folks are using it for the 35 Whalen, might as well try.

225 AccuBond, Winchester 30-06 brass necked up, 3.450 COAL, 25" barrel. Not sure if QL has the 225 Speer Deep Curl but may try that also.

Thanks guys!!

Hey there.

Just saw that Shooters Pro has 200gr ballistic tips, so I ordered a bunch. Trying to figure out what I should use. Any suggestions? RL17/15? CFE 223? IMR 4064? Any I haven't listed? I got respectable velocity and a flat spot with CFE and the 225 Deep Curl, going to start seating depth test and group testing when I get to normal hunting temps again, so wouldn't mind getting everything loaded up and ready so I can stare at them on the loading bench all loaded and pretty.

I use both the 225gr AB's and TTSX in my AI version with H414.

I would like to build a light weight version off a Sako m75 with lightweight stock, with 22" #3 barrel fluted and shoot 185gr TTSX. Be a sweet mountain rifle.

Mighty Peace,

Sounds like a neat rifle...will it be Ackley'd too?

Have you considered the Model 85 Carbonlight in 338 Federal?
Short action rifle with the attributes you are looking for...plus a more secure magazine than the 75...
Where you can still find it, Federal Premium ammunition was loaded with the 185 gr TSX at 2750 fps.

In the long action rebarrelled to the 338-06, that bullet should get almost 2900 fps.
