Anyone have any luck loading these in 308? I have tried Varget and IMR 4895 and the results are not what I envisioned. I have a couple of good groups then they open up. No consistency and velocity is right around what Berger published. I have ruled out loose mounts, rings, and have even swapped scopes. All the same. The rifle is a Remington 700 5R 20" with 1-11.25" twist. Berger recommends 1-12 twist or faster. My goal is sub MOA out to 800 yds. 168's were ok, but seemed to open up past 500. Should I try a different powder or a different bullet?

I used them in a 300 Jarrett with great success and VV N165. Super LR round, but a much larger case then a 308, and I wasn't pushing them that hard either. Worked well through the mag box, and for that reason you should too. You'll just need to find a slow powder that works.

I got some of that Enduron 4451 and 2000-MR to try in the 308 with 185 Jugs. Not sure if I can pack some of the RL-17's with that big bullet without a drop tube in that little case.

I wonder what other slow burning powders are good in the .308

Look on accurate shooter, there a ton of guys running that bullet in the .308 I had good luck with 4064 with 180’s in my .308
