200gr AB 300 win mag

I picked up some 200gr AccuBond for my M48 Western today. I also grabbed some H1000. I don't see the load data on the website for H1000. Can anyone recommend a start point? I see posts from 72-76gr but I am really looking for a safe start load to work up from. WLRM primer, Nosler Brass. Thanks.

That 200 AB and H1000 is a killing combo. Ain't nothing I wouldn't tackle with such a combo. Usually ridiculously accurate as well.
 
Amen to that Scotty! My M48 is insane accurate with the 200AB.

Had not loaded the 200 NAB for the Winny yet, so grabbed my trusty Nosler reloading manual and decided to use its suggested powder, H4831. Will report back.
 
I have some H4831 at home as well. Please let me know how it goes for you. I loaded up 18 rounds, 3 shot rungs from 72.7-76.6. Friday I will see how it goes.

Didn't exceed book max of 70.5. Used 70.0 H4831 out of 26" Browning AB3. Avg MV 2757 (manual suggested closer to 2900). Seems way too slow. I know others disagree with me, but this gun hits manual's estimated velocities by using faster powders, not slower. Example is IMR4350 and 180 NBTs. May try 4350 or Re19 next. Also a few 7828 and Re22.

That said, that 70.0 H4831 load threw bullet after bullet almost on top of one another.
 
The accuracy will account for far more game than all the velocity you can generate.
 
I did a ladder today from 72.7- 76.6 with H1000. Very good accuracy in the 74.5 range. Tomorrow I will load up some more from 76-78 and another batch in the 74.5. The 74 gr range had 2, 4 shot groups, that were 1/2-3/4 MOA at 200yds. I am more than pleased with accuracy, now I wish I had a chrono to see what FPS I am getting. I am guessing 2750ish. If the higher grain loads don't work out, I am very content with the 74.5 set.

With lighter Bullets 4350’ish powders will make speeds quicker than slower powders with lighter Bullets. But, if you want the 2900-3000 that has been safe and very accurate in a few 300 Wins I’ve monkeyed with H1000, RL22, RL25, RL26, IMR7828, etc will get you there safely, but with varying lots of powder you may have to use more than what was tested at the time.

It sounds like you are onto something there. H1000 is really good in the 300 with 200’s. A chrono is really a piece of kit that is required in my book to get all you can from your cartridges but as Mike said, if you’re getting 1/2-3/4 MOA at 200, and shoot your dope out to your distances you’ll be hunting, ignorance is bliss cause the Elk/deer will never know the difference.

In my 300 Win. Mag. I worked up a load with 200gr AB I used RL-23 It shot the best with 71 grains of powder. It stacked the bullets on top of each other. The velocity was 2867 fps. That's out of a 24 inch Shilen barrel.

Good luck to the OP. Never shot AB, but H1000 is great powder in the 300 win mag.
