Awhile back I came across some Barnes 500gr TSX bullets on Gunbroker for $22/100 so I decided to take a gamble and buy some. I first though it was an error but when they arrived all was good , some have allittle discolor to them but they are good to go. A couple of weeks ago I loaded them up with RL26 to find max pressure , again I ran out of case room before hitting any pressure signs. After running my findings through QL I came up with loads to try out. First is the lower node for RL-26 DA157BFD-27EE-44EF-9D87-96C67667EB14.jpeg
The second is the higher node for RL26 which is a 4 shot group with #1&#4 going in the same hole 129BEDED-5360-4E5B-AF0C-2B373E6B5860.jpeg
The next one is a full power load also with RL17 5CE04E66-9FB6-4A4A-BF3C-ABC940A6DC68.jpeg
So there I have it a total of 4 loads delvolped for my 460WBY which was a lot easier than I ever though 7F79E016-3FAF-468E-93DD-3F55F740C8BF.jpeg
The Hornady DGX load needs alittle work yet (sorry no pics). So before I packed up and left I shot another group with the lower node RL26 TSXs and will never do this again with this monster 2EEB4C92-C127-4F64-9085-8F26BF9AB924.jpeg  enough said.

ok share loads!!!!! all of them

great shooting

Amazing accuracy from a cannon. I can't imagine load work up with that piece. Very impressed

Wow that thing is extremely accurate. Great riflemanship on your part without a doubt. Pretty sure I’ve got detached retina’s just imagining load development for that monster haha.

Here you go Fotis:
Nosler 300gr RNBT Silvertip Norma brass ,Federal 215, 121.5grs BL-C2 , 3.379” Coal
Nosler 500gr Part. Norma brass , Federal 215M , 113grs RL17 3.730”
Hornady 500gr DGX Weatherby brass ,Federal 215M, RL26 129grs , 3.707” Coal
Barnes 500gr TSX Norma brass , Federal 215M , RL26 127.1grs 4.005” Coal
These loads above is what I’m going to use. Full power high node loads listed below are safe in my rifle though.
Nosler 500gr Part. Norma brass, Fed. 215M , 115.5grs RL17 3.730”
Barnes 500gr TSX Norma brass Fed 215M 132.5grs RL26 4.005”
Barnes 500gr TSX Norma brass Fed 215 M 116.9grs RL17 4.005”
RL26 are really compress loads using my 30” homemade drop tube.
As always everyone needs to work up to these levels.

One has to be pleased with that sort of accuracy in that rifle! Excellent riflery.

That’s good controlled reflexes with that much recoil. Funny about detached retina.

If you seat the Barnes bullets deeper you will probably shrink the group.
However 2 shots would be all I would want to shoot. :)

Wow. Just wow. Pretty good shooting without a doubt but what I'm saying wow over is looking at those powder and bullet weight numbers. What a cannon. How do you shoot that thing? What's the rifle weigh??

Thanks. Not able to seat the Barnes any deeper that load is very compressed. The rifle weighs in just under 13lbs. recoil is manageable with loads under 2600fps. The loads that approach 2700fps are harsh from the bench , 100fps with 500grs is more noticeable. I'm very happy how this rifle shoots. I have had practice with recoil shooting my 30-378 and 338 Lapua , but this takes it to new level. :)

13 lbs is a heavy rifle but even taking that into consideration I can run the numbers on it and tell you I'm not ashamed to admit you are way more of a man that I am.

Good on you for being able to wrestle it into submission and produce some very good groups. I like shooting too much to attempt such a feat so I'll just admire your results from a distance. Lol.

Impressive.

All 460s are built in Weatherby’s custom shop which speak volume of there work. The last group of one hole is just shear luck. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky.
