That's an amazing group! Great job!
That's why I like the Savage 110, right there.
You did your part and the rifle didn't let you down.
The 3 shots touching, were they your first 3 shots? Just curious.
I love the .243 as well.
I have my Marlin XS7 in .243, and will do just as well.
Do you know what velocities you were getting?
The .243 performs so much better than its paper ballistics.
I know there are a lot of .25 cal fans out there, but I prefer the .243 cal.

The middle shot was first.

I didn’t take the chrono out today, but if I recall righ it was like 3040fps, if I’m wrong, I’m missing 100fps. I was thinking of dropping to the 90 and using the AccuBond. Any experience with it in 243.

You are right on the savages, the make great barrels. This one was pre accu trigger. If was an 8.5 # pull, so replaced it with a basicx. My son couldn’t get groups under 6” until the trigger pull was down to 4#. The gun like Hornady SST, can group around 0:6 with those.

I haven't used anything but NBT's when reloading for my .243, they've just plain worked for what I've hunted and intend to hunt.
I have friends who have used accubonds and have but good things to say about them.
I just figure if it ain't broke, why fix it.

Yup my Marlin XS7 loves them too. We have taken loads of antelope with 243/95 BT's. Not an issue

NICE!

That's my favorite 6mm bullet. My son and I load that for what's apparently become his 6mm Remington. It does a great job on mule deer & whitetail deer.

That's exactly right Fotis!

I still want to score a bolt action 6mm Remington!
I think it would be an even better 6mm round than the .243.

Oh, it might be a little better, maybe.

But my 95 gr Nosler handloads, with a max charge of RL-22, produce about the same velocity and accuracy as the OP's 243 Win.

We're seeing just over 3,000 fps from the 22" barrel, and three-shot groups of roughly 3/4" are normal. I imagine the barrel on ours is getting pretty eroded. Used to do a lot of varmint shooting with that rifle. It'll splatter a rockchuck for sure!

I like the 6mm Rem, heck, I got that rifle in 1974, but in the field, I don't think there's much difference between it and the 243 Win.

Regards, Guy

Guy, I think you're right. The 6mm Rem isn't all that much more now the .243 Win.

I've had good luck in the past with 100gr Nosler Partitions as well.

Try 100gr Sierra Game Kings too. I've had good results with them too.

All those bullets I've mentioned should give you MOA or under.
