I plan to reload my 300wm 1:8 twist with the 210 ABLR bullets for hunting moose

Estimate velocity aroud 2750 fps

Curious to know which terminal result some get at close range, because in my hunting setup, I can shoot between 30 to 800 yard. Thank you

Not much to report.

6.5 142gr LRAB from a 264 wm. 3250 mz - elk @ 137 yards through both shoulders. Exit wound about silver dollar sized. Blood shot meat about 3" across under the hide.

Same bullet from a 6.5x55 @ 2800 MV - axis doe (about 140 lbs on the hoof) entrance behind the near shoulder, exit behind the off shoulder about 1" diameter same size meat destruction.

Used the 168 ABLR in my .280 Rem to tag an elk at 75 yards and a mule deer at ~25 yards. Both one-shot kills, dropping them right smartly. Complete pass through in either instance, so no recovery of the bullet.

I loaded 168gr. ABLRs for my Nephew’s 7mm Mag and he took a large mature Cow Moose at just over 200 yards the bullet was a pass through. She did run into a slough but expired about 50 yards into the water .
Nothing a canoe & rope didn’t remedy (y).

Blessings,
Dan

Thank, I'll try some in a jug of ballistic gel but surely this one deserve a try.

I used the 338 265 gr ABLR from my 338 RUM last fall on a WT buck at 40 yards.

I plan on using the same load this fall on moose.

You will be fine. They will hold together. They may lose some mass but they won't blow up or fail. I didn't lose much on an antelope I shot a few years ago passed through at 225 or so outta a 280AI.
