I have a young fellow that would like to get into reloading and he has been reading as well as talking to many people about loading for his 7mm mag.
I recommended that he try the 160gr AB our Partition over top of IMR 4350 powder as I have been using that powder of almost 40 years in the 7. He is all for using Partitions, but has told me that everyone is telling him to try H1000.
I was going to tell him  that he could go to one of the other people that seem to reload as well for instruction but then decided maybe H1000 would be something new for me as well.
Does anyone have any experience with this powder? Could also get a quick load sheet.
John bought himself a Browning X-bolt which I believe has a 26" tube on it.
Thanking everyone in advance.

Blessings,
Dan

Dan
I have used H-4350 a lot and had very good results in my 7mm Mag and my 7Mashburn. Also limited use of the 1000. Most will tell you 1000 is better. But it depends upon the rifle, my Mashburn likes the 4350, the 7mm Mag likes the 1000.

H1000 has historically been one of the classic powders for the 7mm RM pushing a 160 grain pill. Am I correct in saying that he will be loading for a 7RM? Verify this for me, and I'll be glad to run a projection for you, Dan.

I have IMR 4350 and H1000.
Generally I get better results in my Rifles with IMR4350

I have tried a variety of powders for the 7mm Rem. Mag and settled with the 160 AccuBond and Retumbo, its accurate at 3,140 fps. Hits like a hammer with the 26 inch tube. I can say H1000 is a great powder, but never tried it since the Retumbo shot very well.

Well Dan I have only tried one bullet in the 7Rm and one powder.
160gr Nosler AccuBond in Nosler brass ,2.704" ogive seating depth, 3.290" OAL 69.5grs H1000 2981fps 26" barrel .5" groups at 100yds. Max charge was 71.59grs H1000 QL vel 3075fps 59098psi.
Start 10% below my 69.5gr load and work up to max to find the best load.
I was in a hurry when I developed this load for a back up to the 338win for Montana and was safe in my gun.

This is one of those cases where there is no bad answer in those choices.

I tend to use H1000 more, just because i think it's more temperature insensitive.

I tried a lot of different bullets and weights.
Settled on the Nosler 140gr PAR and IMR4350 or RL19 or RL22. Never lost another animal. The heavier bullet sometimes just penciled thru.
Friends in Montana and Wy also use the 140 for everything including elk.
