I finally got a chance to shoot at 1000yds today at private range. This was a learning experience with variable wind for sure. I took 3 rifles 6.5 Creed , 7mm08 , and 338 Lapua. After getting dialed in on a practice target I put up a new target and shot 3 shot groups with each onto it. The 6.5 Creed had 1 pulled shot (I belive it was caused by the brass issue I discovered earlier this spring with the case head being off center) so I didn't include it. The next up was my 7mm08 with 140gr VLD which is my hunting load which I didn’t think was to bad The third was my Savage 338 Lapua with 300gr Nosler C.C. Which on the dial target was better but I can’t complain with this either Both groups where under 1 MOA @ 1000yds for my first time I think it wasn’t bad.
