Finding this load was easy as falling off a stump..Loaded up batches from 67.0 to 69.0..This load of 67.5 was just a tad over 1/2" at 3151 fps, and was the best of the day.. 68.0 didn't yield much over 10 fps in a velocity increase and the group was about the same as 67.5...Made it to Alliant max of 69.0 @ 3225, but the group opened up to a tad over 3/4" and picked up a very faint ejector mark, so faint I didn't see it until i put a magnifying glass on it..First powder I've tried with the AB in this rifle, I was hoping for a little more speed, but 3150 should do well enough..Leaves me wondering, what to try next? right now they are jumped .100", guess I can adjust that some.. Magpro and Rl-22 are in queue..

Yup, most of us would be quite pleased with that group. You've don't well. Congratulations.

Excellent!

My 270 WSM likes that combination as well. I'm using 66.7 gr for an average velocity of 3216 fps and a SD of 3. It shot a .471" three shot group, then confirmed with a .568". My bullet is also .100" off the lands. I did get pressure signs at 67.0 gr, slight ejector mark.

I have used a lot of Magpro, don't think it will be better than RL-26.

Nice shooting, congratulations.

That's great, this rifle (Tikka T3) tends to shoot a little slower compared to book data and what others are getting, but not by enough to make a difference...I didn't figure other powders would do much better, but I just can't do the "one and done" thing..

My Rem 700 is just the opposite, gets to max velocity and pressure before book max, even after some gunsmith work. Just a good reminder to always start low and work up.

Something i might do is switch the sensitivity on the magnetospeed to H1 or H2, ive read that itl sometimes read slower with bullets over 3k if left on standard sensitivity.

I run rl-26 in my father in laws 270 WSM with the 140 AB. I can't remember the charge off the top of my head, but I do remember that out of a 26" tube I'm getting 3280 and tiny little groups.

I think it was 67.5 or 68. I know it was under the max.

Changed the sensitivity on the MagnetoSpeed and and the 5 shot average is 3178 now..Also changed the BTO from .100" jump to .085" jump and the group shrank from .517" to .393" It may even do better, but I don't think I'm capable of shooting much better than that. Still, thats plenty good enough for any hunting situation I'm likely to encounter....Now to get the scope dialed in..
