So I'm finally trying some vaunted H4350 in my 6.5CM...

Starting with a middling load of 41gr behind a 130 AccuBond. Book data gives it 2750fps in a 24" barrel, any ideas on what I might expect out of an 18"?

Code:
Cartridge : 6.5 Creedmoor Hornady
Bullet : .264, 130, Nosler AccuBond 56902
Useable Case Capaci: 47.584 grain H2O = 3.090 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 2.800 inch = 71.12 mm
Barrel Length : 18.0 inch = 457.2 mm
Powder : Hodgdon H4350

Predicted data by increasing and decreasing the given charge,
incremented in steps of 1.0% of nominal charge.
CAUTION: Figures exceed maximum and minimum recommended loads !

Thanks!

at 2483fps....that's certainly no speed demon. My guess is the 4350 is better with 140+gr bullets.

It does appear that it would work reasonably well with 140 grain AB.

Wasn't H4350 recommended by Hornady with the first commercial 6.5 Creedmore loads? As I recall the loading data was even printed on the ammo box.

Could be wrong.

Back from the range....it's easy to see why the Creedmoor guys love H4350. This is literally the "Nosler Most accurate load" from Nosler 8 with this powder and bullet combo. No fiddling, just a straight book load. This rifle is not some chassis gun either- it's a 5 pound Barrett Fieldcraft with a SWFA 10x scope.

I believe you're right. As easy as H4350 meters, it's going to be a favorite.

Hodge, I came from the range a few mornings ago, used the 6.5 Creedmoor - 42 grains of H4350- 140 grain bullets and 5 shots @ 300 yards with 5 to 10 mph headwind. I cannot explain the flyer and H4350 is indeed my go to powder for the 6.5 Creed.

More love for H4350 from the range....this time with the 143ELD-X bullet.

That’s some amazing shooting. I’ve been running 17 and 26 in my 6.5... H4350 is pretty danged good. I’m a bit of a speed demon so the 17 usually gets a nod. 26 with the 147’s.
