Just got a new Thompson center venture in 243. It has a 22in 1x10 twist barrel. Will be used for deer hunting. 40 to 250 yards. Looking for a place to start with reloading for it. Shoulder shots are my norm. I have h4350 varget imr4895 imr4064 r26 r15. I want to shoot nosler bullets. Need recommendations on what bullet and wieght for the 1x10 twist. Like the idea of the Partition 95 to 100 grain. Thoughts and advice welcome.
Also any opinions on the rifle also.

Thank yall
Michael.

Pick your poison. A 10 twist barrel will handle either Partition just fine. So will either powder, but I'd be more inclined to the slower burning 4350 with those weight bullets. You will get better case fill along with some better velocity with the 4350 using 95-100 gr bullets in a 243 vs the 4895 and 4064.

Can't speak to the R26 or R15, but 4350 will serve you well.

The 85gr Partition is a dandy deer bullet as well. As long as it shoots well any of the 885-95gr bullets will work well.

Yep!! Don't know where he's from, but as long as he's not routinely running into 300lb Northern bruisers, the 85 grain Partition is pretty much an ideal whitetail bullet. High speed and full penetration through vitals from any angle you can dream up, 30' away or not.

I would start with R-26 and 95 or 100 gr. Partitions. 4350 would be my second choice. If thinking lead free the 90gr. E-tip would be a good one and then the 80 gr. TTSX. I would also consider 90 AB and the 95 BT.

My 243s really like R-26 with the Partitions.

I also have a bunch of 85 gr. TSX bullets and Hunter has been the powder for these. They also work very well on deer.

Great thanks guys. I am in Alabama so big deer are 200# 150 to 180 the norm. Could someone run a quick load for a starting point with the 95 and 100grain partitions with r26 and h4350. 22in barrel.

If your not going to shoot 1000yds or bench rest, Winchester,Remington,Federal,Hornady and a bunch of others will work fine for hunting and less expensive to buy.
