Got to the range today.
All bullets from this ladder test were in a 3” circle.

73.0 - 3049FPS
73.5 - 3053
74.0 - 3113
74.5 - 3140
75.0 - 3178
75.5 - 3178
76.0 - 3224
76.5 - 3217
77.0 - 3259
77.5 - 3293

Looks like 3 nodes?
73.0-73.5
75.0-75.5
76.0-76.5

Would you guys experiment a little more at 76.0-77.0?

Nodes are hard to find with a half grain jump in powder, generally .2-.3, so I would look at your desired velocity and do smaller powder increments. Also did you mark the shots on your target? If so, did any of your flatter spots group together? Ideally, when you do this, you look for flat velocity spots and if they group closely, that will be your best starting point.

Had quite a few that clustered well. Actually had three bullseyes. Sighted in with some 180 RN. Recalling nice that 180 RN and 165 HPBT hit the same basic bullseye. ...

I’ll work up a smaller load. The increment used was the QL increments.

If it were me I'd look at the node you wanna run in and then load in the .2 increments and see what jumps out at you. That is amazing speed out of the 300 WSM.

How well did the upper charges fit in the case?

QL said upper charges are 105%. I neck sized them. That batch of RL26 is running a little fast.
In my 3006 with 220gn, was hitting 2665fps, about 35fps more that forecasted, and in this 300WSM, it’s running About 50fps faster than forecasted.

This 300WSM is a Model 70, it’s a dream to shoot.

I’ll go work on that 75-76gn range.

Even if we don’t hunt it, it would be fun for ringing the steel plates at our gun club. 200&300 yards.

We have 600yd too, but paper only on that range.
