Had a CZ re-barreled to .270 Ingwe,which is either a 7x57 necked down or a .257 Roberts necked up to .277".

Here is the rifle...

All it needs now is the moniker .270 INGWE on the barrel.

Went out Saturday with loads containing IMR 4350 and RL-16 and the 130 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip.

IMR 4350..

Interesting cartridge, I’m sure it will be a performer on game

Then I went out Sunday and shot some more RL-16...

On the advice from someone on FB I loaded up 4 rounds at 3.046" and 3.025" with the 47.0 grains RL-16.

So,as of right now I'm going to use the 3.025" of RL-16 and the 130 grain Nosler Ballistic tip for this upcoming hunting season.

On the right is the .270 Ingwe (.257 Roberts necked up to .277"),in the center is a .257 Roberts,on the left is a .275 Rigby necked down to .277".

Cool round. Looks like she is a shooter.

That’s pretty danged cool. I’d bet it doesn’t give up much to the 270 Win!

SJB358,I figure about 200 fps slower with the same bullet weights i.e. 130,140,150 and 160.

Load up some 160 gr Partitions and make sure you tell old Ingwe how much better it is than the 7x57 ;) Neat round.

Gerry,I will do more experimenting in the spring and the 160 grain NP is on the list. ;)

Ingwe knows already.

Have you tried RL26 in it yet? I’m wondering if that wouldn’t be real darned good. It’s excellent in my 6.5x55 with 140’s and you’re working with about the same thing with the Ingwe. I get 2900 right on the nose with 53 grains of the stuff with the 140 AccuBond. Betting it’ll be right there in that same ball park.

SJB,no I have not tried RL-26 yet. I got the rifle just over week ago and I'm just loading up ammo for the up coming hunting season. Going to try Var-Get,Big Game,H-4831 with the 130,150 and 160 grain NP's. Right now my supply of RL-26 is low.

I will do more experimenting after the hunting seasons are over.

Going to use it coyotes, mule deer, javelina and a trip to Texas between Christmas and New Years for hogs and whitetail deer.

Should be pretty slick. Kind of the same deal as the old 270 Redding. Neat combo you made up Ken.

That seems to be a cool round. Looking forward to hear how it performed on game for you. Dan.

Very nice! I've been wanting to do a short action 270 to push the 115gr Gold Dot hard to see what it does. Even necked up a 6.5 Creed to see what it looks like. This has me thinking I really should pursue it a bit more!

Great shooting with an even better looking rifle.
