With the design of the Creedmoor, it should be easy enough to get good accuracy with this 155gr Lapua Mega bullet. Has anyone ever tried it yet? I bet it would work fine ( somewhat of an "Old School" load in a "New 6.5" cartridge, ala 6.5 Swede)

I used them a little in my Swede Jim. Never in my Creed though.

I’m sure they’d work well from the CM though.

My brother is trying out the 155 mega this year. Its lapua factory loads though in the 6.5 swede. I'm sure it would work in the 6.5 CM too. The 6.5 CM velocity is perfect for the cup and core bullets in my opinion.

I too will be trying the 155 Mega in the 6.5x55.
Thinking it will be great for moose!

I shoot the 160 Woodleigh Weldcore in my 6.5 CM. Very similar to the Lapua Mega. I have a 7 twist barrel which is a little faster than what’s normally out there. No experience on game but the accuracy is outstanding.

I had to slightly modify the entrance to the chamber with a .010 30 degree bevel in order to get them to feed the flat point correctly. The breach is Rem 700 - style push feed. Now it’s slick. I spent some time working on the rifle yesterday, cut the barrel at 22” from 25” and re-crowned. It’s going to be my December gun, as the big brown and furries should be under a stump by now and I can leave the .35 Whelen at home. The 160 Weldcore is for “just in case”. Hahahahaha.

That certainly looks swell! :) I love Woodleighs! I was just curious, as I really believe I could kill everything I'm ever going to hunt with a 120 TTSX. :) But sometimes, I like to get nostalgic, and I just like the old heavy round nose bullets...:)

I’m with you on that. That 160gr Hornady RN is also a real looker. Makes a guy feel like he should be stalking across the plains in NE Uganda with Karamojo Bell.
