Doing some load testing with my new to me Vanguard S2 and looking very promising.

CCI-250
Wby case

Definitely appears to want to perform for you. That has to be gratifying, for sure.

Yes sir if it keeps that up that's rolling. That 100 gr bullet ought to be moving with that kind of powder charge and in a TSX will handle a good range of game size and weight.

What these hot rod 257's need is a longer, heavier bullet with better B.C.'s and sectional density.
NOSLER! PLEASE....PLEASE....make a 125gr AccuBond LR...please? And some load data with RL-22?

Got out to the range and ran the load over the chrono. Averaged 3509fps. That’s almost exactly what Barnes lists for the load in their data using a 24” barrel.

jeepers- that's smoking right along  (y) . Should do the job.....on just about anything. Nice shooting too! CL

I use the 100gr TTSX set at 3.186" OAL using 71grs of RL22 with a Fed215 primer for 3531FPS over my chrono. Very accurate and deadly.

That would be nice but you will likely need a 1:9 twist.
My 25-06 AI is being built right now with a 1:7 benchmark barrel on it.

That 1:7 will really spin the longer bullets coming out in .257" these days! (y)

Even with today's normal hunting bullets, the .257 Wby is pretty much a point & press rifle to 400 yards or even more. Steady the crosshairs on the critter... ZAP! :) My standard 25-06 with 115's has done great on mule deer and coyotes at 400 and a bit. The Ai version, or Weatherby's 257, are even mo' better!

Guy.

Gunsmith called and they fitted the barrel! Now they are machining a pic rail for it.
Weird pic..... rail for a #1B
