Thanks. 24” tube gives me a good starting point and should see a little more velocity with a 26”.

Maximum chamber pressure will be identical regardless of battel length.

Well the results with these two combos was a bust I’m sure if any creedmoor and prc shooters read this they will cringe that I literally will be seen as wasting precious rl26 that they cant find.

Try H-1000 with the 110AB

and RL-25 with the 115NPT.

These combos were fantastic in my 257 Wby.

Can you elaborate please? I was just going to start working up some loads in 257 Wby Mag with RL26, 100 grain Partition, Triple Shock X and Sirocco bullets and 120 grain Partitions. I was going to compare RL33, IMR 7828SSC and Accurate MagPro as well. Maybe you can prevent me from going down a path I'll regret.

Just didn’t find the accuracy I was looking for everything at 100 was greater than 1.25”.

For what it’s worth my 26” Rem 700 257 WB shot R26 sub moa. BUT, I was using 3.40” oal with both the 110 AB and 115 BT. I had shot R22 previously and had found the long oal was where my rifle liked it. (Seated as long as I was comfortable with to insure adequate neck tension.

Dr Mike’s QL seems right in line with what I was getting. 69 grs R26 w/115 BT gave 3400 FPS. 71 grs R26 w110 AB went 3530 but it was too warm. Shot good, sub-moa, but gonna back it down and try 69- to maybe 70 grs. It’s plenty fast!!

Good luck; and work up as each rifle is an individual.

If you try R33 and do velocity and accuracy testing please share. I ve got some R33 but haven’t tried it…. Questioned if there was any room for improvement. Not sure I can shoot well enough to see!

I’ve been working on my 257 WBY again with 100gr TTSXs this time. RL26 is just too fast for me in this cartridge. I came up with a good load with N570 , it’s a full case though.
With the Hornady 120gr HPs I run RL33 , good stuff there.
