since I got to the range with a powder burner. I wandered into the world of air rifles this Winter and I have been shooting them quite a bit.
I finally got to try the 180 AccuBond load I put together for the Pre 64 30.06.
1.03” at 100 yards won’t win any bench rest contests but all things considered, I was okay with this result. I know I pulled the second shot to the right as I haven’t shot anything with this heavy of a trigger pull this year.

This rifle is a dream come true for me. I am impressed with how light it is and it’s very easy on the shoulder.

Obviously some room for improvement with the load and the shooting but as is, it should work just fine as a max 200 yard elk load next Winter.

The load looks to produce MOE (minute of elk) in the rifle. What's not to like. Congratulations.

Jack O'Conner wrote that "if" you had a 30-06 that shot "consistently" 1 1/2" for 3 shots at 100 it was a very accurate rifle! Yours is doing better than that! We've come a long way since then of course, better everything in powders/bullets, etc. I also believe "rounded" groups are more indicative of consistent accuracy than vertical or horizonal, however small. Just me. :)

Nice group. Also looks like a nice day to be outside - a clear win now matter what the group looks like.

I wouldn’t want that old shotgun shooting P64……

I’ll shoot you a PM for my address to get that old clunker off your hands

Kidding of course. Great stuff. Love them old P64’s.
