I got the Caldwell Fire Control full length rest today and now I'm waiting for the rain to quit long enough to get to the shooting bench.
First impressions are it seems as if it is pretty solid. I'm not sure how well the Fire Control mechanism will work but time will tell.

Sure enough impressive looking. I will be most interested to see how it works for you.

From what I've read, this is entry level for this type of rest. Some reported issues with the quality of the front bag and the smoothness of the Fire Control mechanism. I am curious myself how well this actually works.

Couldn't help but notice your rifle is a Ruger Hawkeye all weather like mine. How does it shoot in the factory stock?

Not a tack driver ( but I'm not either) but will go sub 1" at 100 on a good day. I've mostly been shooting 150 grain Nosler bullets.
When I was looking for a rifle I had no inclination to buy a 280 but fell into this deal. Glad I did. This has been fun to work with.

Btw the bottom target is with a freshly scrubbed barrel. Here in the PNW it rains so much I clean my barrels often so like a rifle that doesn't go too far awry with the first shot.

Those groups look reasonable. That would work for me when working up a load.

Unless I go after antelope again I doubt if I'll be shooting past 250 yards so while not stellar it is acceptable for my application.

And that is an excellent point! My average shot on game is about 125 yards. MOA is more than good enough to drop game for me.
